Solberg VAE Case Study- LM1600
Application: This site was using two GE LM1600 gas turbines to generate power for UCLA’s campus and newly built medical facility. They
were experiencing issues with back pressure in the system as well as visible emissions outside of the skid on the roof adjacent to the hospital
windows. In order to eliminate the back pressure and emissions they used one of the Solberg “VAE” series blower assisted oil mist eliminators
with a 6” flanged connection to adapt to their vent port. This unit traps all the oil mist and coalesces it back into the system via a ½” scavenge
line and also maintains the 0‐4” w.c. pressure level they require in the lube oil reservoir.
